About hotelris

Most hotel lists sort by stars, price or a score that nobody can explain. hotelris sorts by the things that decide whether a stay works: is the dog allowed in the room, does the hotel pick you up, is there really a beach, is it really quiet.

Eighteen keys

Every hotel in the magazine carries between three and six advantages. Each one is a claim we checked against the hotel’s own information and at least one independent source: the pet policy page, the transfer page, the map, the restaurant guide. Where a claim could not be confirmed, it is not on the page. The date of the last check stands on every hotel page.

Insider notes

For each house we add three notes a regular would give you: the room or category to ask for, the timing that makes the difference, and one detail that is not in the brochure. They are editorial opinions, written from research, reader mail and our own stays, and they are the part of the page we care about most.

Independence

hotelris takes no commission and runs no affiliate links. The links on a hotel page lead straight to the hotel. Hotels cannot buy a label, and they cannot buy a place in the insider selection. If you find a claim that no longer holds, tell us and we will check it again.
