Rosewood Vienna

Rosewood Vienna opened in August 2022 in a group of three nineteenth century buildings on Petersplatz that once served as the headquarters of a Viennese bank. The neoclassical façade was kept and the old banking hall became the lobby. One of the buildings holds the apartment where Mozart lived while he was writing The Abduction from the Seraglio.

There are 71 rooms and 28 suites, finished in pale wood, stone and Viennese textiles rather than gilt. Space grows from the standard rooms to the corner junior suites and on to the three Signature Houses, named Treichl, Hoffmann and Graben. Upstairs, the sixth and seventh floors are given over to the Neue Hoheit brasserie and bar and to THE1835, a rooftop bar named after the year the house was built, whose terrace looks across the spires of the old town to St Stephen's Cathedral. Breakfast is served under the eaves with cakes, juices and sparkling wine on the buffet.

The Asaya spa on the fifth and sixth floors has a sauna, a steam room and treatments using Augustinus Bader products. Dogs are welcome in the rooms and in all restaurants and bars for a daily fee, and the Graben, the Hofburg and the cathedral are all within a few minutes on foot, which makes this an easy base for a first visit to the city.
